Project Overview

Introduction

Monk Cullen Gutmann and the Maha Sangha of the Mahamevnawa Buddhist Meditation Centre organized this Dāna (Generosity) project to bring support and kindness to local residents in special care accommodations for disabilities.

Goals
  • Provide Essential Comfort: Purchase and deliver high-quality, nutritious food and essential personal care items to residents and staff at the accommodation center.

  • Share Spiritual Merit: Organize a simple, safe gathering to share the blessings of the Dāna and create a heartfelt connection between the monastic community and the residents.

  • Uplift the Community: Cover facility needs or activity costs identified by the care center, ensuring the donation has a direct and positive impact on daily life.

Why it matters

For a Monk following the path of compassion, service to the vulnerable is paramount. This project is a living embodiment of the Buddha’s teachings, bringing practical relief to those who need special care. Your contribution supports an act of pure generosity, creating immense merit and ensuring that the residents feel seen, valued, and cared for by their wider community. Join us in extending the hand of compassion across Sydney.
